Looking for Summer Foundation: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet B40

Intencionalmente decidí primero probar las muestras de bases que de entrada sé no son un buen tono para mi piel.  El motivo es sencillo, quería probar la fórmula para ver si vale la pena probar en un tono más claro.  Como escribí antes, Tenue de Perfection de Guerlain tiene un acabado lindo y es de larga duración, desgraciadamente me produce acné.

I intentionally decided to try first those foundations I have samples of that I already fear won’t be a good match for my skin.  The main reason? I wanted to test the formulation and see if it’s worth checking in a more suitable shade.  As I wrote before, Guerlain Tenue de Perfection has a nice finish and it is longlasting, unfortunately it breaks out my skin.  

Perfection Lumiere Velvet de Chanel parecía ser una buena alternativa, sigue del lado bronceado canela, pero a mi piel le gustan las bases de Chanel.  Después de probarla un par de ocasiones, varias que por cierto no fotografié, funcionó bien.  No me produjo acné, duró incluso después de mi visita regular al gimnasio y es ligera.  ¿El “pero”?  Es excesivamente mate cuando la aplicas sola y el rostro se puede ver un poco apagado.  Por ello, definitivamente necesitas un iluminador o sellar con un polvo que le dé luz (piensa en los meteoritos de Guerlain) –salvo, claro está, que adores el terminado mate.  Esta situación es muy evidente cuando comparas fotos del rostro sin nada, sólo con la Tenue de Perfection y sólo con la Perfection Lumiere Velvet.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet seemed to be a good alternative, still on the cinnamon tan side, but seems my skin does get along well with Chanel formulations.  After testing it a couple of times, some that I didn’t photographed, it did work well.  No break outs, it lasted even after the regular visit to the gym and it feels lightweight.  The downside?  It seems a bit flat on its own, so you definitely need a luminizer or a nice finishing powder (think Ballz) for it –unless of course you love the matte finish.  This fact is very evident when comparing it to bare face and Guerlain Tenue de Perfection.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados con esta base.  Una parte de mi me dice que debo darle una oportunidad al tono B30, pero otra teme que se siga viendo rosita –recordemos los swatches de Vitalumiere Aqua B30 aquí.  Probablemente trate de conseguir una muestra e intente.  Mientras tanto, seguiré buscando.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this one.  A part of me tells I should give a try to B30, but another fears it might be still too peachy –remember Vitalumiere Aqua swatch here.  I might just go get a sample and test.  In the meantime, I will keep looking.
